Oil Free Granola

Breakfast is really important, so if you don't have much time, you can make a big batch of granola once or twice a month. You just need to mix it with your favorite plant milk and you have your breakfast ready in just 1 minute! You can also add other ingredients like fresh fruits or some nut butter.

It's also a perfect snack and I always bring granola with me when I travel, just in case I can't find anything to eat. This recipe is also oil-free, so is even lighter and lower in fat and you won't even notice, I promise!

Oil Free Granola

Granola is usually made with nuts, seeds, rolled oats, dried fruits and honey, but maple and agave syrup taste amazing, are super healthy and cruelty-free! I've always added extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil, but it's not necessary at all.

Oil Free Granola

To make the granola you just need to mix all the ingredients in a big bowl. I prefer to heat the wet ingredients in a saucepan because it's easy to mix them with the dry ingredients if they're hot, but if you don't use coconut oil, you can remove this step.

Oil Free Granola

Then you have to spread the granola onto a baking tray, bake it for 25 minutes and that's all! I usually stir the granola once or twice while baking to get a crumbly granola, but this is not necessary, it's totally up to you.

Oil Free Granola

Cashew milk is my favorite plant milk, but almond milk also tastes really awesome. However, I prefer to drink oat milk because is delicious and lighter than nut milks. You can find the recipe in our 10 Easy Vegan Recipes FREE eCookbook. Homemade plant milks taste better and they're usually more affordable.

Oil Free Granola

If you don't like Goji berries or you can't find them, don't worry, feel free to use other dried fruits, nuts or seeds, this recipe is super easy to make and always works. The best granola!! My husband have been enjoying this granola for some time and I have gifted friends with it as well. Now I've also added it to the foods I'm serving to my daughter who is in treatment for breast cancer as it contains such simple and nutritious ingredients, which I add or subtract to create variety.

    Hi there,
How do I calculate portion calories? 1/10th doesnโ€™t really help me. I usually put 1/3 c in my bowl. Can you help?

I did not read the comments before attempting the receipe (my bad!), and so I did what the recipe said and added the goji berries to the dry ingredients from the start. They got burnt, and half of the granola was ruined. Other than that, it turned out great. I was super concerned that it would be soggy, because it was still pretty soggy by the time I turned off the oven, but as it cooled it dried and got crunchy and nice. Just don't add in the berries until the last minute ๐Ÿ™‚

Omitted goji berries, added nutmeg to the dry ingredients. I'm thrilled with this recipe. Delicious and my whole house smells amazing! I will have to make a larger batch next time. I appreciate a recipe without added oil if it isn't absolutely necessary. Definitely a new household staple for me, thank you!

Having said that, all the nuts and seeds have their own oil anyway so I wonder how much difference it makes adding oilโ€ฆ๐Ÿค”

Hi Trudy! Thanks a lot for your comment ๐Ÿ™‚ I think oil is not necessary at all in granola. Have a nice day!

Hi, help please! The flavor came out great but it is not crunchy at all, it is actually pretty soggy.
    How can I fix it?
    Thank you

I love your recipe and have made it several times. I donโ€™t add maple syrup or water and it comes out just right crispy every time!
I prefer just the sweetness from the dried fruit.

Just made this recipe with a few changes and it is perfect! I used dried cherries and dried cranberries for the fruit, added 1/4 cup ground flaxseed, 1 tblsp. cinnamon, used 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds and 1/2 cup sunflower seeds, used only 1/4 cup maple syrup with the 1/2 cup water and 1 tsp vanilla. Cooking - Don't add fruit until oven is off at end. To begin, spread oat mixture on pan with sides. Cook 30 minutes at 320 degrees, stirring every 10 minutes. At 30 minutes, turn the oven off, stir the fruits into the oat mixture, put back in the oven with no heat for another 10 minutes. Cool mixture and then enjoy!!!

I'm concerned about the use of agave! I read an article last summer, in which it said that agave is 70% fructose, which is harmful and causes weight gain!!!! Maybe one should avoid it!

Hi Donna! All sweeteners should be consumed in moderation, not just agave syrup ๐Ÿ™‚

This granola looks awesome. If you added some coconut oil, how much would you use?

Hi Barbara! I've never made this recipe using coconut oil. However, I would add 1/4 cup of oil + 1/4 cup of waterm, or 1/2 cup of oil and I would omit the water. Hope it works!
